medical/medicare plans

Postby PAUL CELMER on Mon Jul 14 2008

I was frustrared with medicare/united payment or lack of payment to be correct and I enrolled in an Aetna plan I thought was supplemental coverage. I now find that Aetna is primary in place of medicare. I pay a $20.00 co payment to the doctor and Aetna covers the rest. Before, medicare paid the Doctor a portion, and I paid the doctor about $19.00 after medicare and United paid none every time.My wife was cancelled from Medicare but I was not.
My coverage is so screwed up, I dont know what I have or dont have. Several calls to medicare or Aetna so far hasn't solved the problem and I spent gours on the phone. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Others have also reported the transition to Medicare can
be difficult. One good way to check on the progress and
results is to register yourself at www.myMedicare.gov.
There's more detail on Medicare services at the Medicare
tab at www.Lucentretirees.com/BenefitsTeam. If you
would, report on whether that's helped you.

I have found that is very helpful as well. Although, things can get a bit difficult if your a veteran who is trying to receive both medicare and VA benefits. I have ran into these issues on a couple different occasions. Any advice on this matter? Thank you.
