If you disenrolled or changed plans for 2009, be sure to check the deductions on your January statement. As for me, ALU deducted a premium for a plan from which I had disenrolled for 2009. (I had received a confirming letter from Lucent reflecting my disenrollment.)
Payroll told me to call Benefits since they had not been advised to stop the deduction. Benefits apologized and advised that I could expect a refund "sometime in February." Their excuses are: so many changes in member enrollment, changes occurring late in the month???. If I didn't suspect (smell a rat) something unusual, I would not be to ticked off. They really don't need my $367.16; collectively it adds up nicely, though.
